I was hoping the Apple offering would sweep me off my feet and we’d live happily-ever-after. The slipper didn’t fit; the iPad did not impress.
- I want support for multiple file types, including free books from the library. (That knocks out the Kindle)
- Intelligent file organization. (Nook, we hardly knew ye.)
- A clear digital ink screen. (Bu-bye touchscreen Sony’s)
- Good battery life is a must, but wireless isn’t absolutely required.
Someday will my eReader prince come? Any hot eReaders I should meet for a potential long-term relationship?
It would probably just match you up with eReaders full of devotionals in the middle of Oklahoma.
What format are the files from the library?
Lyn – looks like Adobe Digital Editions and ePub. The audio books are WMA Overdrive and mp3.

You all crack me up! When the iPad was announced, I was wondering how long it will be until I feel the need for an eReader. Right now I’m very fond of all the free books at the library. But like Christine’s, mine is expanding their digital collection and I’m thinking about reading on something other than a laptop. Though I just don’t know if I want another device. So maybe I’ll hold out a couple more years? (Probably not.)
